That's a long list!

It's been a while since my last blog post. Seems I have a lot of things going on right now...
I'm halfway through a series of eye treatments. I have dry eye disease and mybomium gland dysfunction. It felt like I had sand in my eyes and my vision was being affected. The treatments seem to be working (hurray! ) but I still have a few sessions to go.
The interior of our house is grey. I agreed to live with it for a year. It is dark. Gloomy. I don't like it. The year is up and I've hired a painter. In the next couple of months the interior of the house will be painted in shades of yellow and cream. My studio will be painted white - it is north-facing and needs the light. I am shopping for flooring and light fixtures to upgrade both bathrooms.
Looking after our grandaughter is lovely. And time-consuming. She is growing so quickly! Robert and I take turns so he gets boat time and I get studio time. In a couple of weeks, my daugher, her partner and my grandsons will be visiting for a long weekend. Busy. I bought a swing set for the kids and hope to move some of the chaos outdoors.
Speaking of outdoors - what a cold, wet, miserable spring! I have expanded one of the flower beds in the front yard to accommodate another Japanese maple tree and more perennials, and am building up the woodland garden in the backyard under the sequoia tree. I have planted the peas and salad greens, and we are enjoying kale shoots. I've ordered some seeds to try a new kale variety. The planters are full and the beds are weeded. The lawn is slowly improving, but I still have thousands of dandelions to dig out. We have our patio furniture out, but it's too cold to sit out there. Bring on the warmth!
My eldest sister and I are organizing a family reunion. It will be in August. Planning has been hampered by a general lack of responses regarding dates and venue preferences. Sigh. People enjoy the reunions, so I don't know why they make it hard for the organizers.
I am currently weaving a shawl on one loom and preparing a warp for a scarf on the other loom. I've finished one handbag and am working on the second. I have a backlog of projects and am having difficulty keeping up with the guild work. I need creative time to stay well, but my busy brain can certainly complicate things if I let it.
And this huge list of things I am doing? So grateful. I am privileged to be able to afford these luxuries. Grateful to be so engaged with my kids and their families. Thankful for my health and the safe community we live in. My mom said that being too busy was better than not having enough to do. I get that.
