Too much drama...

What a busy summer. There were lots of pleasurable hours spent on the boat, visiting with family, and in the garden. There was also way too much drama for me.
I like things to be calm, quiet and peaceful. Organized and tidy. I inherited the responsibility gene from my mom, and don't want excitement to mess up my plans. So, a few big disruptions have made for a challenging few weeks.
My studio, in the photo, has new flooring and baseboards and fresh paint. I'm delighted with the result. However, there was a month of chaos preceding this photo. My studio is upstairs, and stuffed with stuff. A lot of the stuff had to be moved downstairs into the garage so the carpet could be pulled up and the new flooring put in its place. We also needed to make room for the painter. The painter wasn't just doing the studio. Nearly the entire main floor of the house was painted. For over two weeks, our furniture was displaced, there were lots of people in the house and everything was messy.
In the midst of this, I broke my toe. It's a little toe, but it was possible that I had actually broken something else in my foot. So, after four hours in the emergency department I have an xray and tape around my toe. A week after that, I fell. The nightlight was unplugged for the painting. I felt a bit dizzy when I got up for one of my inummerable trips to the bathroom and took a step to steady myself. I have a broken toe. Bang! The right side of my face is purple and black, there's an egg on my forehead and my eye is swollen shut. Five and a half hours later in emergency, I've had a CT scan and assurance that the eye is uninjured, I don't have any cranial or facial fractures and no apparent neurological damage. The bruising extends across my nose, down to my chin, and is turning a sickly green, highlighted by random purple patches. I don't go out much.
Now,the painting is finished, the studio is back together and my toe and face are slowly recovering. We are back to full time care of Hailey, with a weekend trip to see Raven and Aruna planned for this week. It's all good. It is all a reminder to me that although I value my peaceful life, I can roll with whatever life dishes out. It just felt like a lot...
